RD&E Virtual Members’ Engagement Event: On route to Reset & Recovery – BOOKINGS NOW CLOSED(4.00pm – 4.55pm)

We are pleased to announce that we will be holding both our formal Annual Members’ Meeting (AMM) and Member Engagement event on Wednesday 30 September 2020.  Due to the COVID-19 social distancing restrictions, the sessons will be hosted entirely online. The events aim to provide an opportunity for Trust members to hear more about the Trust’s performance over the previous financial year, to learn more about aspects of our work and to contribute your views.

You do not require any special software but to take part you will require a computer or tablet connected to the internet. Easy to follow joining instructions will be shared once you have signed up.

Members’ Engagement event:
Start time- 4.00pm -4.55pm

This session will feature talks by two of our clinicians themed around learning from our COVID-19 experiences and how we are delivering our services in light of the pandemic. There will also be the opportunty to hear how our new electronic patient record system (MY CARE) will change the way that people access care in our hospitals and community settings. Two focus groups will follow as part of our member engagement sesson.

Key Note Speaker: Professor Adrian Harris, Executive Medical Director at the RD&E
Adrian will give a brief overview of how the Trust has responded and continues to manage the challenges of COVID-19 as we embark on our restoration and long-term recovery programme.

Prior to his appointment as Executive Medical Director in 2015, Adrian served as Associate Medical Director for the Surgical Services Division and previously held the role of Director of the EmergencyAdrian Harris Department, spanning 12 years. Adrian has seen healthcare from both a primary and secondary care perspective, having originally trained as a GP before spending the last 22 years as a consultant Emergency Physician. He is an Honorary Associate Professor in Healthcare Leadership and Management at the University of Exeter Medical School.

Key Note Speaker: Dr Chris Mulgrew, RD&E Chief Clinical Information Officer

In this short talk, Chris will explain how our new MY CARE programme, due to launch in October 2020, will fundamentally and positively change the way that people access care in our hospitals and community settings.

Chris has been a Consultant Nephrologist at the RD&E since 2007 and has been involved  in a number of Trust-wide projects. Chris led the implementation of an electronic alerting system for Acute Kidney Injury in 20Chris Mulgrew12, supporting a team of nursing staff to improve outcomes and has participated in the development of national materials for the ‘Think Kidneys’ programme. Chris has mentored junior doctors in their projects through the Quality Improvement Academy since 2013 and was Director of Medical Education from January 2016 until September 2018.

Note: If allocated a place on a focus group  you will need to look out for your Confirmation & joining instructions email, so do save the email as it will include your unique link to join the session.  You will not be able to book on the day of the event.
