Seminar: Intro to lifestyle medicine ‘Lifestyle facts & bio-hacks’ – 19th Oct, PMS Lecture Theatre
Join us for lunch and a talk by two local GPs passionate about promoting lifestyle medicine.
Dr Lucie Wilk & Dr Charlotte Chandler will explain why the difference between our evolution and current modern lifestyle makes us sick and how we can bio-hack our way back to health.
They will advise on the importance of addressing factors such as sleep, stress, nutrition and movement to treat the root cause of disease and how to make lifestyle changes based on clinical evidence.
Dr Charlotte Chandler – GP from Rolle Medical Practice, Exmouth
“Our modern lifestyle is a major factor in the development of chronic diseases such as diabetes, heart disease, COPD, irritable bowel syndrome, depression and some autoimmune diseases. What we often don’t appreciate is that the right lifestyle and nutrition can actually be our medicine.” Dr.Charlotte Chandler
Dr Lucie Wilk, Rheumatologist Consultant and Functional Medicine Practitioner at Taunton & Somerset NHS FT Hospital
“I am excited to be able to offer people the kind of ethical care I’ve long been searching for. I truly believe that this is the future of medicine: sustainable care that helps to liberate people from a state of chronic illness and return to their lives feeling empowered to continue to make positive change.” Dr Lucie Wilk
