Do you have a cherished RD&E memory you’d like to share?
This year, on 5 July, the NHS will celebrate its 70th anniversary and the RD&E wants to hear from you.
The 70th anniversary is a great opportunity to celebrate the achievements of the one of the country’s best-loved institutions and thank its incredible staff for their efforts.
It’s a chance to share special memories and offer messages of gratitude – and this is where you come in.
To mark this momentous birthday, we’ve created an online ‘Memory Box’. It works like a public noticeboard and we’d love you to post your own personal message on to it so we can create a unique archive of memories.
Your message can be memory of any time in your life when the RD&E and its staff have made a difference to you or your loved ones. Paint a picture of that memory for us and other people to enjoy.
It could be a memory from last week, last year, 30 years ago or all the way back to when the NHS began in 1948. You can post more than one memory if you like. Remember the noticeboard and your message will be public so only post on to it if you’re happy for your memory to be seen by other people.
We’ll keep the Memory Box open until the autumn this year. We’ll donate your memories to NHS at 70: The Story of Our Lives, a Heritage Lottery Funded project led by Manchester University and also keep them as a historical record for the RD&E. If you’re willing to go a step further and donate your full NHS story to The Story of Our Lives, please contact: firstname.lastname@example.org; phone: 0161 275 0560; nhs70.org.uk; Facebook NHSat70; Twitter @NHSat70.
Thank you for taking part and we hope you’ll enjoy your trip down memory lane!
